The Number One Sons are a performance team of top musicians and recording engineer, specializing in recording live, in-studio performances. They are a complete package of studio, engineer and musicians (drums, bass and guitar). Working exclusively out of Monster Island in New York City, The Number One Sons work directly with top producers to get tracks cut efficiently, professionally, and with an incomparable flair. Led by seasoned engineer and Monster Island Studios owner, Mike Caffrey, the line-up of Steve Wolf, Jack Daley and Rob Bailey have cut tracks for East Coast, West Coast and European artists. They are recognizable players who have played on #1 hit singles, Top 40 hits, gold, platinum and diamond albums, which have earned Grammy Nominations, Grammy Awards, and MTV Music Awards.
Producers can attend sessions or choose unattended, remote sessions. In the case of unattended sessions, The #1 Sons have plenty of experience with "online" work, where guide tracks or ProTools sessions are supplied via FTP. Available recording formats are ProTools HD 7.3, Radar, and 2 inch analog tape. Unless otherwise specified, basic tracks will be recorded to tape and then transferred to ProTools (on the grid) via Radar Nyquist converters at the sample and bit rate of the supplied guide session. For producers working remotely, an initial MP3 or AAC file will be supplied for "parts" approval prior to final tracking. Vocal tuning and Beat Detective services are available upon request.
